1. Overview of Thailand

Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia, bordering Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Myanmar. With an area of approximately 513,000 km² and a population of over 70 million people, Thailand is one of the most famous and developed tourist destinations in the region.

Thailand has a diverse terrain: the North is mountainous with a cool climate all year round, the Central region is a fertile plain, the South is famous for its beautiful beaches and many beautiful islands. In addition, this country also owns hundreds of ancient temples and many modern shopping areas.

2. Ideal time to travel to Thailand

Thailand has a tropical monsoon climate, divided into 3 seasons:

• Dry season (November–February): The best time to travel. The weather is cool and dry (25–30°C), suitable for sightseeing and swimming. However, ticket prices and services are high, so you should book 2–3 months in advance.

• Hot season (March–May): The weather is hot and sunny, especially in Bangkok and the Central region. Suitable for beach tourism. April has the Songkran water festival - the biggest and most exciting festival of the year.

• Rainy season (June–October): It usually rains in the evening, but you can still arrange your schedule. Low season means cheap costs, suitable for those who want to save money. You should bring a raincoat or small umbrella.

3. Transportation in Thailand

Transportation in Thailand is well developed, with many types of vehicles to suit different needs and budgets.

Travel between provinces and cities in Thailand

-Domestic flights: If you want to save time, you can choose domestic flights between Bangkok – Chiang Mai – Phuket – Krabi,… with prices ranging from 700,000 – 1,500,000 VND/leg. Popular airlines include Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air,...

Getting around the city

-Tuk tuk: Traditional means of transport, usually for short trips. Note that you should ask the price first and bargain gently to avoid being "ripped off".

-Taxis: Taxis are common in Thailand, but not all drivers use the meter. Ask for a meter or negotiate a price in advance.

-Grab: A familiar ride-hailing app, available in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya… convenient and transparent pricing.

- BTS (skytrain) and MRT (subway): In Bangkok, this is a time-saving means of transportation that avoids traffic jams. Tickets can be purchased at vending machines or ticket counters in stations.

-Motorbike rental: If you are confident in driving and want flexibility, you can rent a motorbike (price from 150 - 250 Baht/day). However, you need to bring an international driving license and wear a helmet..
